How to beat Summer Heat

During hot summer, our bodies drain out of fluids quickly and to compensate the loss, we need to drink atleast 6-7 litres of water.
Apart from cool water, body also needs minerals and vitamins to keep our stamina.

Lemon Juice : Lemon Juice is available for everyone and if its taken early in the morning, it cleans up our liver and prepares our digestive system for our breakfast. Lots of vitamin ‘C’ in it will keep us disease free.

Sugar Cane : Sugarcane juice mixed with lemon juice, mint, ginger will cool our body instantly. It has natural sugar which gives instant energy.

Barley : Boil Barley seeds with water and make its soup. Add pinch of salt and buttermilk and this drink instantly cools body and retains stamina.

Bitter Gourd : It reduces heat in body and also it has vitamins B1, B2 and C. It also has calcium, phosphorus, iron, potassium. It cleans up stomach and eliminates all germs from intestines.

Cabbage : It has lots of vitamin C, proteins, manganese, potassium, omega-3 and is a good replacement of chicken for vegatarians.

Tomato : It has all minerals and vitamins as cabbage along with vitamin E. Useful for people who work a lot under sun and also for those who get into depression easily.

Yellow Cucumber : It has lot of water and its good for skin in summer.
Mix its pulp with buttermilk and apply on heavily tanned skin.
Wash it after one hour and skin color returns to normal.

Brinjal : Has lot of fibre, potassium, manganese, iron, thiamine, vitamin B6, magnesium which keeps our bodies fit in heat.

Other seasonal fruits like Papaya, Mango, Watermelon should be part of our regular diet in summer along with Green Cucumber.

Precautions for summer :

  • Avoid direct sun between 11 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Use sunglasses with UV protection during day and apply natural sunscreen lotions made of cucumber and aloevera.
  • Use more white and light color clothes
  • Drink atleast 7 litres of water and have more salads to avoid dehydration.
