oh..

so they were for energy n no hunger??

cool!!

jaggia

yes, that tablet (actually a goli) is said to b giving sufficient energy for the day to work and one will not get sleepy or tired, or exhausted. and no sensation of hunger too as it kills the hunger for 10-12 hours. it ws claimed quite confidentally b4 me. but sort of i ws naive to have rejected the trial offer. the man also said that similar research is going on in america and germany etc. but that it is very costly as one goli costs like 12oo rupees at that time i.e. 12 years ago. i believe he was speaking the truth as he was referring to india\'s strongest p.m name who benefitted by it as she culd afford to pay so much.

vhk

but i think der would be side effects for such things which kill the natural hunger of body .if not now der may be reaction at our oldage or any period.

DCP

in ayurved there\'s a medicine called triphala rasayanam , which is a mixture of triphala churnam, honey, cow ghee, aswagandha, yashti madhuka etc

having 20gm of it every night before sleep will make you energetic and you can work for 20 hours a day without getting tired
no side effects.. and if you use it continously, it will delay ageing process also

jaggia

what abt those haveing a little bit of bp or diabetes? they wont be able to take honey mix medicines. of course getting pure cow ghee is a bit difficult nowadays but still one can manage to find it somewhere.

jaggia

regarding vhk\'s query, i too agree that there cud be some side effects, but no info or study known so far. i am saying on the general basis that whenever we interfere with the normal routine functioning of the body, there is likelihood of reactions.

pallavi

i never heard honey effecting diabetic patients

Star Dust

good quality honey (chose raw honey from forests or from good trusted brand like LION\'s) is good for diabetic patients also
my uncle and dad are diabetic but consume honey with lime juice daily
In a day..when u dont come across any problems... you can be sure that you are traveling in wrong path - SWAMI VIVEKANANDA

jaggia

but the doctors both allopathy and ayurveda are unanimously saying that honey in any form has to be avoided for diabetics. it seems it does some harm. any experiences or knowledge would be welcome. my mom is fond of honey but i don\'t give it to her as doctor said no. btw, LION\'s is from dates i think and if so, it is more  harmful.

DCP

LIONs has date syrup and honey both i think
anyway its a choice and you can always have alternates for everything

for diabetic patients ayurveda suggests half litre orange juice and 5km walk daily
