one thing that i have noticed is that there is lot of divergence of opinion between the allopaths and Homeopaths, ayurvedics and the siddha doctors, on such matters like what is allowed and how much, and what is to be avoided, or allowed mildly etc, to a diabetic, etc. it only confuses a person more.

Samantha

to avoid confusion stick to only one method and see results over a period of time
people\'s confusion is because of their lack of patience and faith in any system.
they try homeopathy for 1 month and if they dont see immediate results they try allopath, then they end up with ayurved and when its taking time on you, you start blaming all

understand that every system takes its time for making your body and mind to get used to it

what is best is to consult doctors from differenct regimes like allopathy, homeo, siddha, unani, ayurveda, tibetan, chinese, rumi and perhaps even a native/ tribal medicine vaidya. they are nowadays available almost everywhere. i understand that even if one or two of them are n/a, it is okay to consult the others. always pay them some reasonable consultation fee so that they feel happy to talk to you and give full details. having done so, one can make up mind in line with what appeals most. one thing i would advise is that in any case, never fail to inform your family doctor on the line of treatment you finally decide to take.

alright, the theme of this thread started by Anoo is size zero discussion. i from my experience found that brisk walking of at least 4 km is indispensable to reduce weight. i was 105 kg. i did not take any medicine for weight reduction, but took this advice from a close friend. in 2 months time i came down to 97, in next 2 months to 94. then consulted family doctor, and cut down on fats, starchy foods, aerated drinks, non-veg like mutton, strict walking regime etc, helped me to bring it further down to 87 in next 4 months. i am now only 84, and happy with it. but to remain it at this level, i must do at least 4 km walk daily, at any time, unbroken i.e. continuous one. is that not really a wonder or miracle - to come down from 105 to 84 kg?

Anoo

thats so cool of you mr.jaggia
losing 21 kg in these days just by walking 4km/day is not a small achievement.
congrats

hope your example will motivate many others who just skip meals and try for shortcuts like pills, medicines and just laze at home

yea... any vigorous actions does definitely cut down weit with no medicines..

wrestlers does the same thing. they eat allllot (like 12-24idlies/dosas, litres of milk, 2/3packs of biryani, lots of non veg n boozings) but still they dont increase an inch cos later to eating they work real hard to sweat out..

well, tks for th complement. i wanna share more on this 4 benefit of others. most imp. thing in this is mental resolve. once u make up mind, that\'s it. cutting down on starchy food etc, is not easy. i saw ppl doing it for 10 days, then there comes the binge and gulping of these poisons for 2-3 days. yes, i call them poison as it destroys th body when unwanted or in excess. the damage is done.
2)brisk walking is recommended. how brisk? u hv to fix the pace yourself. th mantra is that u must b able 2 feel mild strain. take a glass of water b4, to enable ur body to push out toxins thru sweat. try 2 take larger steps by pushing out th leg a little more than prev. step. it will do wonders.
3)note well, the walk has 2 b continuous. no stoppage or resting in btn. if a friend comes across (this usually happens) and wants 2 spk something, take heart 2 say \"hi, i am in th midst of walk now, lemme complete, wil talk 2 u later\". but it is alright 2 brace up for a max. of 1 minute if unavoidable, not more. if the conversation prolongs, then recall & use similar words as above. 1 minit only bcos th muscles wont register th stoppage. 2 minits wud mean some loss of impact. try it urself 2 validate.
4)wht 2 do if rain comes. same formula. 1 mint is okay. keep walking if it continues. carry ur umbrella or raincoat. it is not others business why u r walking. rather learn 2 enjoy th raindrops. it\'s nature\' way of appl of ur hard work.
there are some more tips on ths subject. space is limited. i think its better to send me email & hint if u r interested. my email id is given in member list.

hes ryt...

if its raining.. using stair-case completely n vigourously for 20-50 times is best way...

initially when going for brisk walk, we definitely feel lot strain/pain in kuff muscles then slow down walk than relaxing...

it gives u lite feel all day n kinda delighful when walking in the cool breezing sun rise..

this definitely makes us nature lover first n then a work out addictor...

wteve... its mostly giving u good health n fig bestly..

jaggia

stair case is gud idea if its rain. but then chk with ur doctor. i mean u shdnt b hving high b.p, heart, or lung problems b4 attempting it.
FOR LADIES ONLY - not advisable during periods, prEgnancy, and may b about 2 months after child-birth.
Further, brisk walk, thn strain/pain in muscles, slow down, then relaxing - all this is not okay. c to it tht u continue walking continuously at th same pace as ws at the beginning. if necy, find ur not-2-strenuous pace by trial & error. i repeat if pace is slowed down later, th benefit gets reduced. even speeding up later, will not give added benefit. pls knw tht the muscles\' language is like tht only.
Ur other points like morning walk is cct. evening walk is as gud. but dont bunk it off if u r unable to stir out in the m/n or e/ning. do so at any time of th day. here pls note well tht walking must be given precedence over food or even sleep. true the body needs them all. but if there has 2 b option, then it\'s 2 b in favour of walking and skip or delay the other 2/ anyone as per time/situation.

i still dont understand the point of being size \'0\'
its bad to be fat but its okay to be somewhat fat(not obesse) and muscular as it will help u keep stamina in old age also
