Michael Jackson was born on 29 th August, 1958 in Gary, Indiana, USA.

The details of his horoscope are as follows:
The lagna rising is Virgo
Rahu is placed in Lagna
Jupiter is placed in the 2 nd house
Saturn is placed in 3 rd house
Moon is placed in 6 th house
Ketu is placed in the 7 th house
Mars was placed in the 8 th house
Venus was placed in the 11 th house
Sun and Mercury (R) is placed in the 12 th house

The reason I have picked up this horoscope for analysis is because it reflects the classical principles of Vedic astrology clearly. Hence, it is a good horoscope for academic interest also.

In my article ââ,¬Å" Rahu and Film Industry: Astro Analysis ââ,¬Â I stated that for artists, the role of Rahu is of paramount importance. Rahu is placed in the lagna in the horoscope of Michael Jackson. Classically, Rahu in lagna also signifies a person who keeps on changing his looks. Michael Jackson took help of plastic surgery to transform his personality completely from a Negro to a white. Then he changed his looks again to look like an American lady.

Mercury in the Nakshatra of Ketu and Moon-Mercury affliction are classical combinations for skin problems. In the horoscope of Michael Jackson, Mercury is placed in Magha Nakshatra which is ruled by Ketu and there is affliction of Moon and Mercury in 6/12 axis. We have witnessed that as a result of numerous plastic surgeries that Michael Jackson underwent; his skin was full of diseases. Rahu in lagna is also a combination for diseased skin. The medicines that he took also affected his skin adversely.

Moon in the 6 th house suggests Bala Aristha yoga as per Vedic astrology. We have heard stories of childhood misery and abusive father which Michael Jackson has affirmed many times. His personality was greatly affected by his family history.

Michael Jackson made major strides in his career in the Mahadasa of Saturn which started on 12 th January 1979 and continued up to 12 th January 1998. He earned his fortunes during this period.

In the early 1980s, he became a dominant figure in popular music and the first African American entertainer to amass a strong following on MTV. The popularity of his music videos airing on MTV, such as \"Beat It\", \"Billie Jean\" and \"Thriller\" helped bring the relatively new channel to fame.

Videos such as \"Black or White\" and \"Scream\" made Jackson a big name on MTV in the 1990s. In his horoscope Saturn is the benefic 5 th lord placed in the 3 rd house signifying grand success in performing arts. He was a great crowd puller and tickets for his show sell like hot cakes.

Being under the influence of Saturn he always had keen interest in charities also. On May 14, 1984, Jackson was invited to the White House to receive an award presented by U.S. President Ronald Reagan. The award was given for his support to charities which helped people overcome alcohol and drug abuse. Mercury being placed in the house of expenses and losses made him behave most extravagantly during its dasa. He also had to fight legal battle against child abuse and his image was negatively affected during this period. Few mysterious things about MJ on eve of his birthday

1. Animals always played a very important role in Michael\'s life. Bubbles, the chimp was probably his most celebrated pet. MJ had rescued Bubbles from a Texas cancer research clinic in 1985 when the chimpanzee was three years old. Bubbles slept in a crib in MJ\'s bedroom and was the only one- human or animal- allowed to use Michael\'s private bathroom.
Jackson was separated from his beloved Bubbles only after the birth of his son Prince Michael II. Bubbles had become aggressive and was moved to an animal sanctuary.

2. MJ was believed to be very close to spiders. Yes you read it right- Spiders! In fact for the trial of one of his concert in the year 2002 Jacko came in limping and the reason he gave was that he had been bitten by one of his tarantulas at his ranch, Neverland, which was home to many rare spiders.

3. In fact it was also rumored that for his much awaited comeback concert, Jackson had plans to enter the stage with African elephants and panthers; and parrots and some rare birds were to fly behind him.

4. Michael Jackson was diagnosed in 1986 with vitiligo and lupus. In a 90-minute interview with Oprah Winfrey in February 1993, Jackson dismissed suggestions that he bleached his skin, admitting for the first time that he had the illness. It is also said that he started wearing his signature \'sequin glove\' to cover the vitiligo that had begun to appear. Some also said that Jackson slept in an oxygen chamber to prevent a horrible skin disease (not Vitiligo).

5. The one thing that constantly kept changing about MJ was his face. To begin with, he narrowed his nose slightly and shaped his eyebrows. Next came in a permanent eyeliner around his eyes and a lipstick! The late 80’s saw Jackson play with his nose again and he also got high cheek bones. Jackson\'s looks kept changing and not many would know why?

6. There were also rumors that MJ had been allegedly taking female hormones to remove facial hair and keep his voice at a 12 year old boy pitch. He is also believed to have gotten rid of most of his nose to touch high musical notes while singing. This plastic surgery in fact cost Jacko dearly when he publicly dropped his nose!

7. Remembering the weird ways of Michael Jackson, he once dangled a 6 month old baby from the fifth floor of his hotel room in Berlin. Nothing and no one can probably now explain that incident.

8. Mystery shrouds Michael even in death as some say he was murdered and others claim it was a drug overdose. Some die-hard fans even go on to call MJ\'s death a publicity stunt and that one day he will come back from the dead... moon-walking... and make the biggest comeback ever in history!
