Do you believe in Astrology at young age ?

In our previous generation, normally there was a fashion among the youth saying that they wouldn\'t believe in ancient sciences like Astrology and also traditional medicines. They used to pretend as if they were very modern and they went after English medicines too. Also they were not having the habit of visiting temples too. Only few were exceptions. After growing older, after experiencing ups and downs in their lives, they started believing in all these things.

But our generation has changed drastically. Now a days, youngsters are believing in every ancient things and they started following everything. Now a days, we can see equal number of youngsters along with the elders in the temples. Also in the last 10 - 15 years, we can see the growth in Homeopathy, Ayurvedic and Siddha Medical systems started flourishing equally with English Medical system. Also farmers started believing in natural fertilizers than Chemicals. The trend is totally changing and many youths started learning Astrology too.

Hence the old people used to ask us whether we are believing Astrology at such young age, since it was not common in their generation.

I think it is the \"disappointment\" which makes one to believe in occult seinces like astrology. At this age of cut throat competation, there will be more and more disappointments. Youngsters are getting disappointed these days becuase of the competation. In my opinion, it is the disappointment which leads to one to believe in occult sciences.

What are you trying to say here, @Pifriend? Do you mean to say there were no Astrologers or Astrology believers in ancient days??

If only disappointment is the concern, why are some famous personalities who are already successful are believing in Astrology and following it??? There are many reasons for that like expectations, curiosity and planning, etc..

People like you are now heavily programmed into a lifestyle where you go to school, get degrees and get well paying jobs.
But none of them give you peaceful life.

Most in this generation are neither able to completely become western nor able to leave their indian roots

I think we have been conditioned to work more and think less unlike our previous generations, whatever little time is left of us after work, then the entertainment takes over, and we do not have time to sit and think we just respond to the so called News and media channels in the way they want us to react and @Pifriend could you let me know why are we disappointed? Our fathers and forefathers atleast lived happily inspite of meagre income and we earning lot more than them do not live happily atleast do u wonder why?

It is the disappointment and apprehension for the common man and fun and excitement for the celebrities which makes them believe in astrology. Moreover one\'s fate can\'t be changed. what ever has to happen will happen. There are other reasons why our forefathers lived happily in ancient times.

Astrology is just like a game, a board game rather. If you don\'t know the game you will be curious to know about it especially if it tells about your future. It is just one complicated board game which astrologers know how to play and common man doesn\'t know how to play it. This is not to offend anyone just my personal opinion.

@ Pifriend  - Either its common man or celebrities everyone are the same and its a pity that most of us do give importance to celebrities or people who have power or money and forget that a human being is important and not the possessions he carries.

See lets not call them astrologers who know how to play with people. I feel in any profession you see people who play like politicians with people, a CEO with his sub ordinates but that doesn\'t mean all politicians are cheats as well as all CEO\'s are bad.

i have very good belief with our indian type of  astrology..

particularly our vedic astrology..

legen cheiro itself came to india and learned our astrology..then only he became famous in the world..

This has become very high of-late, that too in this IT generation. All the people in this generation should understand that there are more in life than earning much, buying properties and going for parties. Also they are neither able to fully digest the Western Culture and accept it, nor able to stick to our roots. The last 2 - 3 generations have really forgotten the roots and hence started losing the identity itself.

i heard many people saying \" u believe in astrology in so young age?? dont do it so.. cos it distracts u from ur realistic competition\"

Believe me I have been there . I started my journey and I introduced myself (self study) to astrology when I was 16(15~16) and now I am 21 . I have not told anyone around me that I believe in astrology and know western astrology .
I remember at a forum I was critized cause I was "too young" for astrology . It doesnt matter cause I believe in it .
