Vajrasan and Namaaz positions look similar ??
« on: April 19, 2009, 10:57:56 AM »
I have observed that Vajrasan ( a posture in ancient yoga) and Namaaz( prayer of muslims) have similar postures.
the sitting method with knees bent and spine/back resting on ankles and breathing method is same in namaz

can someone throw light on this

Time: 2 minutes

Method:

    * Sit on your heels.
    * Hands on knees, abdomen drawn in, chest up, back straight, shoulders squared, head erect.
    * Normal breathing.

Benefits: Aids digestion and helps cure sciatica.

Sukhra Vajrasan is sitting on same posture and bending your uppse body front and toucing ground with your forehead, without lifting your back from ankles

same methos is used in namaaz

in namaz they sit with toes up
in vajrasan u flatten toes also
but in the end effect is same as remaining body posture is same
in this pose all 7 chakras in body come into one straight line along the spinal chord
when it happens breathing shud be rhythmic and into stomach only and this hot air circulating throughout body and 7 chakras will start activating kundalini

I attended yoga sessions for few days.Initially i felt vajrasan is tough but later on with practice it became some what easier.It helps a great deal for respiratory problems.Pranayams also helps a lot.

My yoga instructor says that sitting in vajrasan for half an hour besides being good for digestion etc is also equivalent to 5km of brisk walking. Is this true? Can anyone explain?
