Title: Evil Eye
Post by: DCP on February 19, 2009, 01:24:21 PM
I've seen this a lot. As a kind even i was effected by this.
people think that a person who forms centre of attraction at any place/gathering is usually effected by 'evil eyes' of jealous people and his/her health is effected soon.

In modern linguistics it is 'casting an evil-eye' . Science explains it as the flow of negativity that affects the person or object towards which it is directed.

Every thought form is associated with energy, just as blessings and good thoughts have a positive auraabout them, so also negative emotions harness harmful or negative energy.Sources of these negative energies are, people who give way to:

Jealousy

Sense of discrimination/comparison : the feeling that other people are better than you, thereby leading to frustrations.

Spirit of vengeance/retaliation : people who curse spitefully seeing the prosperity of their rivals. These emotions may not manifest or surface out but their presence even at the subconscious level can be destructive.

Evil eye casting results in:

1. Uneasiness

2. Lack of interest

3. Sudden illness

4. Prolonged illness (without any reason).

The Vedic perspective

The vedas have described four kinds of people

1. The Satpurushas: who help others without caring for their own well-being

2. The Samanyas: they help considering the position of the self

3. Manushya Rakshasas: who extract benefits by disturbing others welfare

4. People who harm others without any purpose

According to the vedas, people who belong to the last two categories(described above) are most likely to cast an evil eye.

Power of evil eye

The ominous power of Dhristi can be subtle or immense depending upon the depth of negative emotions. Stronger the emotions greater will be the energy released. This energy can work at the Material level : An evil-eye on other\'s possessions like wealth, property, and other accessories which consequently deplete the victims of their resources.

Physical and the psychological level : The \'hale and hearty\' suddenly succumb to ill-health, or happiness and peace of mind is lost. These are some of the nasty effects of evil eye

Witchcraft, black magicetc. are advanced manifestations of evil eye.

Traditional methods for getting rid of evil eye

Material level: Some fruits like lemon, watermelon and coconut have the capacity to absorb negative energy.

For eg. A new automobile is run over lemons before it starts its journey. Watermelons are hung at the gates of houses and babies are smeared with collyrium on the forehead and the cheek to ward off evil.
(maybe using pumpkins for halloween has something to do with this)

Physical level: Burning camphor, when brought near any person burns out all the negativity around the person. It is necessary that the mind get tuned (in order to absorb the negative energy) to these media (lemons, coconuts, collyrium) of evil eye so that they serve the desired purpose.

The evil that is cast due to black magic or witchcraft needs more powerful remedies

the best way of handling BURI NAZAR / EVIL EYE on your house is take a lime and insert 7 Lavang/Clove in it and along with it tie a mirchi / chillie and hang it on the entrance of your house

for houses : can also put a naraghosha vinayakudi\'s picture on/side of the main door.

if its for humans. egg is the best. take an egg, revolve it around the person for 3 tyms from ryt-left then again 3 rounds from left-ryt. finally break it on the grnd  behind the person.

personal experience to see the following:-
once there was middle-aged man had bought a camel in far-away market, and was passing thru our village... in order to go to his village. the camel was young, havng several nice, colourful beads around the neck, anklets wiht bells in all the legs, nicely decorated, looking like prince of cattle. as the man was holding the neck ropes to lead him through the central commonplace in the village where several idlers and oldies were sitting, and chatting mundane things. one old man saw more deeply and said, \"wah, kitna achcha camel hai. kaisi jadu jaise chaal hai !!\"  the old man and camel hardly went further about 50 steps, and suddenly the camel happen to put its right leg in a small pit, it instantly broke from the knee joint and fell down. writhing in pain, the camel could not get up, even in spite of several people coming forward to give it a helping hand. you might know there is no cure or therapy for a broken knee for camels as the joints are too dry, and long onee. finally the camel had to be abandoned as is where is !!!!

i can not forget taht experience as it happened in front of my own eyes and u don\'t know how much pain that camel went through. It was unbearable also for the onlookers and i dont think any one can forget. so helpless this camel and one would feel soul-moved at his plight.
Lol, we forgot to thank DCP for initiating this good educative discussion.
I think there is lot of vast reserve of native, tribal and village wisdom in india that one need to take it out to the open and discuss freely.
Okay just to share wiht you waht i once saw in Shillong.....
These are Khasi tribals, mostly christians. in case of less rains, they catch earth-worm, tie its tail with a small thread to a thistle or wood straw pegged into the ground. they require 21 nos. to do so. they do so in a festival like mood and amid singing, dancing etc. such practive is prevalent in Jaintia hills, and even in Mizoram, i am told. they believe doing so, leads to torrential rains that is welcome to the hilly regions as it flows down into brahmputra etc. but the tribals benefit immensely as they have no means of controlled irrigation.

how is salt and lemon associated with removing effects of evil eye
Title: what is it? monster toy?
Post by: Sharmila on July 18, 2009, 02:54:43 PM
it helps...

jus on revolving around the evil-i effected person\'s head by a fist full of rock-salt(can also use a combination of red dried chillies n rock-salt) or a single lemon/egg/pumpkin/coconut or a over used chappal/broomstick, gives him relief..

its a common procedure followed by many ppl even these days too..

Swami ji was a perfect yogi. to him pain or pleasure won\'t matter much or not at all. we ordinary mortals are not that fortunate. we are all not equally blessed. when there are problems in your family, how can u relax or find peace.
incidentally, the chilly powder seems to be a universal antidote being used all over the indian subcontinent from ancient times to deal with \'chhaya\' or evil spirits.

And lemon too is universally used in such things, broomsstick, mor pankh, agarbatti particularly made of Guggal or sambarani etc. I have seen people being beaten wiht iron rods to drive very bad or dangerous spirits out of their body. But I don\'t know what makes these things so potent to do such tasks.
Title: what is it? monster toy?
Post by: Sharmila on July 25, 2009, 12:26:25 PM
actually... acts like beating up the effected person with rods or in more worse way works but that should be done by very perfectionist.

these days ppl doing such acts are fake.. they are simply harrassing ppl in crowd but not treating the effected... this kinda treatment was left many years back itself.

ppl pls dont believe in such fake ppl..

Sharmila, sometimes one is really awestruck. in my adolescent days i saw once one middle-aged lady prostrating before a baba who had a dhooni by his side, burning incense and some photos of Goddess Kali, Hanuman and some unknown deities to me in front of a crowd of ppl sitting all around and watching in excitement. lo and behold, this lady was talking some abracadabra, then suddenly picked up an iron pipe lying nearby, and slowly rotated it over the head and gave a gentle hit her on her back, by herself. then the baba commanded her to do more in penitence of her bad deeds. she did it 5 or 6 times, yet carefully avoiding to touch her head or any other part of body. no injury was caused as she hit her back fairly in slow motion i.e. gently. but the baba clarified that this was good enough to complete her punishment. then he asked her to once again prostrate before the dhooni, and pray. I mean, i hadn\'t seen such things before, and could not believe it or potency to cure evils, or drive away bad spirits from humans like that. did u see any such thing anywhere?

yea sometng like that... in my house done to my mum...

7yrs back my mum fell very sick, that to too suddenly. she was a very strong woman b4. we took her to too many doctors who couldnt help her by anyways... then 1 day my maid said this situation to my mum is maybe because of evil effects(banmathi) done on her by somebody n gave a suggestion to take her to a lady(she lived in a very small village called gagan pahad, near hyd) who does anti for such efects..

we took mum there, she saw her from a meter far n said mums health prob though we didnt spell anytng abt it. we were shocked literally. then she gave her some lemons to burn n vibhudhi to put on her fore head whenever shes sick. also said she wanna check our house n offer few pujas if needed.

a week later she km home n done a puja, after which my mum cured very well till now(touch wood).

but that lady dint even touch my mum. she spelled few mantras n gave mum a few lemons to burn by the end of puja. u dont believe, those lemons which i brought frm market turned red when burned.

she dint took a paise from us.

a year later when we were passing thru the lady\'s place, went to meet n thank her but unfortunately she died while helping other lady from banmathi..

:(

banmathi is done vy super witches in graveyards. this is done on a puppet made of dough which is dressed by the dress, hari, nails, mud uner the feet of the person\'s whom they wanna try it on.

they pin the puppet, torture it in many ways which will b suffered by the person(thy r tyin on). it simply shows hell to the person. they wont even kill the person completly..

its seriously a very effective witchy thing. they use many powerful spells.

while any1 trying anti for it may lead to the death of the person who is suffering/trying on it/ doing anti to that. its a death game. ppl who cant face competition directly use this n make opponent weak to death in all ways... a very horrible game!!

in this process only the lady who saved my mum died!! we always thank her n  pray for peace to her soul..!!

ayyeeayyeeoohhh!!!    ufffff!!!
waht am i hearing? are such tings going on? o God, that is 2 much, to do black magic to kill a person in revenge or trouble-giving, that 2 without that person\'s knowledge i.e. in absence from a far-away place.
i ahve noted the film names given by vhk - arundhati and phook. actually i dont see any movies nowadays, just i wud watch clippings, but this is exception and why not as it may be eye-opener.
but sharmila, u also said it is done \"under feet of person on whom they wanna try it on\". my question - then who will allow such things to be done to them?
Title: what is it? monster toy?
Post by: Sharmila on July 29, 2009, 03:55:46 PM
i mean they collect the sand under the feet of n person n do that.

this thing they can do it easily if they follow that person u c..

guess what its very rarely seen in cities but too much in villages.. innocent ppl are killed for this u know..

those witches dnt mind doing it on a 1yr old kid too..

this s 1 of the examples to show \" how cruel is mankind\"..

Title: what is it? monster toy?
Post by: jaggia on July 30, 2009, 06:50:56 PM
but u also said they put nails and pins etc into the model made of earth or atta. how will it effect the person concerned, i mean how will it give pain to the actual person? is it not the smart way of fooling some unsuspecting and uneducated villager people and collectting money? one can understand doing archana or prayers in temples, churches to get relief from specif problems or fulfil desires, but this thing is quite strange to me. hav u come across any instances of reality or sure happenings when people do such things?

its better not to walk or drive through secluded places this winter as many people will do rituals to remove evil eye and throw the stuff at such places.
people who are weak if they crossover such things will face their wrath

why do people lack sense and throw such things on 4-road junctions.
they need to be educated to throw them in backyards , graveyards or far away from cities
why do they want others to suffer

hi guys,
i am mexican and my mother believes you can get evil eye from jealousy too but also if  someone finds you or your child very attractive it can give the evil eye so here where i live (texas)  if you go to the store and an old lady or whatever sees your baby and says \"oh look how cute your baby is!\" then they have to touch the baby to get rid of the effect so most will do it automatically but if they dont then my mom says you need to take an egg and pray over the baby, then get a clear glass of water and break the egg into it and try to see a shape..sometimes it will look like an eye or maybe a dog or whatever and each shape means something.
by the way my culture calles it \"ojo\" which means eye in spanish   ;)

yes sometimes if we see lemons or eggs on the road or curb my mom says not to ever get near them and do not touch them at all. she won\'t even let me walk barefoot in our front yard in case someone has poured powder or liquid you cant see there for bad luck because then it will get on our feet and we will catch the bad luck

As there are several different traditions followed in different parts of india... it is hard to tell one specific thing to ward off evil eye..

one more i can think of is wearing a Black color thread or bracelet (have seen people wearing)

Also, some kids are prevented from it by kohl (black color). they are marked with it on their forehead..  :)

Cant think of any more tricks at the moment :D

The simple way to remove negative energies from your body is sitting and meditating for 15 mins before going to bed. Also you can ask some one in your house to remove dhrishti using Salt or Red Chillies or Aarthi with Camphor. If nobody is there to assist you. Apply lemon on your head before taking bath. Or wet yourself with Salt Water before taking bath.

All these things can remove any negative energies.

Post by: deepa on June 06, 2011, 09:03:58 PM
sometimes just those simple methods are not enough and we need more like what pallavi said.
what gaurang said is only suited for simple \'evil eye\' caused by jealousness when you are seen by many at some party or celebration.

But if someone develops long term jealousness and wants to see your downfall then you need to do what pallavi suggested

You are right, Deepa. I suggested them for normal Dhrishti (Evil Eye). Also this will serve as a general maintenance for every family.

But if the problem is little severe, doing some special pooja and reciting Lalitha Sahasranamam / Hanuman Chalisa, etc will work.

If the problem is even more severe, even these things won\'t workout. For that doing a Ganapathi Homam / Sudharsana Homam in the house will solve the problems. I\'ve suggested the same in some other thread too.

This is my personal experience....
Once I went to a friend\'s house and again I visited her so many times all visits were normal and no disturbance etc.... with what so ever
One of my Nth visit when we were telling bi... we stood at the door step and kept talking like the usual last minute talks etc...
I accidentally touched a small slipper type of toy which was near the door bell .... nothing happend okay bi and finally came back home slept
THAT night i had this horrible experience that a man who looks like he has hair style of Jesus and he is holding me on my cheast so hard that i could not breath or move with great difficulty i said \"Ganesha\"   suddenly the heavy hold feeling left me and went inside my closet type of feeling was experienced.
from then on when ever I visit that particular friend house I get odd crazy dreams...
Finally my husband put god\'s photo in the location where i felt it went in my first dream.
even today i feel scard to go to her house. but i learn that this slipper toy was for protection from evil but i felt like it was evil.

But some how our visit to this friend\'s house has reduced from time to time.... even 2day i visit her i look down while entering the house so scard of that slipper toy.
please discuss what is this evil eye? or evil slipper or scary slipper monster slipper? what is it?
and trust me i have no jealous or odd feeling about her house 100% truth. I am happy for her house for her.

Tara,

Did you inquire your friend about that toy? If not, do it casually and get to know about it. We should first know what it is.. Where she bought it.. Or who gave it..

If she has bought it in some local shops, there\'s nothing serious to worry. If it has been given by some Tantri after doing some Mantra/ Tantra works, we gotta think little serious about it.

If it is bought from some local shop, then she or her house might be under severe Evil Eye and that Slipper / Monster Toy must have observed them without allowing them inside the house. Since you touched that, the negativity must have just reflected to you.
Title: what is it? monster toy?
Post by: gauranggroups on June 08, 2011, 12:29:23 AM
Tara,

Forgotten to add. If it\'s the second case which I\'ve mentioned above. Ask your friend to remove that toy and ask her to wash it with Salt Water and then with Good Water and then let her hang / place it wherever it is now. Make sure she shouldn\'t take that toy inside her house. The cleaning procedure should be done in the outside of her house. And all the water should be poured outside itself. After doing this, she also should wash her hands, legs and face and also should sprinkle few drops of water over her head before entering her house. It\'ll be better if she takes bath immediately and do a mediatation for 5 minutes or a normal pooja to her deities.

That\'ll remove the negativity from that toy. Also she\'ll be safeguarded.

sharmilaji , my grand mother puts salt on a paper and wraps it around , then she revolves it around the affected person  and  burns it off on a stove , she believes that its the best way to treat evil eye affected person
