Basic problem started when industry had scarcity of engineers and they hired anyone with specific skill like a programing language or even basic computer knowledge and its applications.
Few of them got promoted to higher positions than those who came with engineering degrees.
These will be filtered first.
Then people with non computer science background like mechanical/civil engineering will be next targeted. They will not survive unless their skill set is exceptional and can beat others (including AI tools).
In next 3-5 years, all those will be laid off and replaced by AI or new CSE graduates.
Even MBAs with non engineering background will be sent out, unless they are showing huge profits.
Just having a college degree and certification courses will not guarantee any job.
Last month, 20% of coding and testing human jobs were done by AI.
By mid-2028, 50% will be done and people should start looking for alternate professions.
