hello Friends,
Lord Krishna was 8th kid in the family and his life was for a cause but still as a Lord he had to live a huan life being an 8th kid? so astrologically is being 8th kid is bad luck to family? or Good luck to family or is it good for one self to be 8th kid
what are the astrological views good or bad please share your thoughts...
That been said I am 8th Girl kid in the family :-), my mom beleievs i am good for family as my siblings are 3 girls(sister) and 4 boys(bro) if i had been a Boy it would have been pandavas so My mom thinks it is good that I was born as a girl but now the discussion is about 8th child in the famil not about Girl or Boy? bring it on friends....

after population explosion, if a family is still having 8 kids in this generation, they should be banned from society and they dont deserve even a discussion or mentioning here.
if its about 2-3 generations older to you, then no point in discussion as we wont see such families in future (for our discussion/conclusion to be useful to someone)
All human actions have one or more of these seven causes: chance, nature, compulsion, habit, reason, passion, and desire

Wow @ Tara, it's amazing to know you have 7 other siblings.Hats off to your parents for raising those many kids. I would say no doubt that you are very lucky to have those many siblings, especially if you have a good relationship with all of them. I love big families, in our family we are four. The statement about banning a family for having many kids is very naive. Because of this huge population, India has got an advantage of having younger workforce than many other countries; in fact, the population in Europe is shrinking. Anyway, the population explosion in India is not only just by local population of India, but also by highest number of inflow to India in the form of either refugees or illegal immigrants.FYI India is one of the top 10 countries with most number of immigrants. One way it could be just because of brainless Governmental policies and /or their inefficiency to deal with the issue. If anyone says banning local big families, it means kill the local population (along with the local culture) and indirectly give up the country to immigrants. Hope we Indians start thinking sensibly to find  a permanent fix for an issue rather than doing a patch up work for a real problem which eventually come back to bite us.

8 kids in a family signifies extreme prosperity or extreme poverty for the family. Nevertheless in all cases it will signify bad days for the country and the society.

Guess this is how a modern day astrologer will put it. :).

Virinchi

Astrologically it doesn\'t signify anything to you.
FYI, even bheeshma was born as eighth son to ganga and after his mother drowned seven of them, he alone survived.
Krishna also was the only one who survived among his eight.
Both were not raised by their mothers.
Both had different lifestyles .
Can\'t compare  with you as your siblings are alive and you were raised by your parents

Virinchi,

Everything you\'ve said here is right, but for Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna is not the only survivor among the 8 siblings. Lord Balarama was the seventh son. He survived too as he was transferred to the womb of Rohini from the womb of Devaki. First Test-tube Baby!;)

Bhavani

Technically krishna was the only survivor out of devaki\'s womb.  yoga maya was born as seventh, warned her uncle of eighth kid and then left

No Bhavani, you are wrong. If you\'ve doubts go through the Scriptures once again.

Kamsa killed 6 children only. The seventh one was considered by him to be a miscarriage / abortion. The reality is the seventh Child, Lord Balarama was transferred from the womb of Devaki to the womb of Rohini(1st wife of Vasudeva). Lord Krishna is the eighth child to Devaki and Vasudeva. At the same time (few minutes later), Goddess Durga took birth as Yoga Maya to Yasodha and Nandagopa.

When the Children got exchanged, the girl child (Yoga Maya) came to Devaki and Vasudeva. When Kamsa tried killing her, she warned him and disappeared.

Star Dust

nevertheless, krishna is considered as the only survivor among devaki\'s kids
balarama is technically not devaki\'s kid

okay back to tara\'s point : if you have examples of families where 8 kids survived and were raised, then you can compare.
