I personally know one person who quit sugar (all sweets, honey and junk carbs), had only black coffee with breakfast (never on empty stomach) for 90 days and his energy levels went up.
His diet had no seed oil (like peanut, sunflower.. but had 1 spoon sesame oil per day), used cold press coconut/olive oil for cooking (1 tbsp), 1 big spoon salt/day, no garam masala, only natural spices like green chilli/black pepper, all vegetables, paneer/tofu (for veg protein), chicken breast (for meat protein), curd (1 big cup without mixing anything), brown rice for lunch, whole wheat roti for dinner.
Moderate exercise 3-4 day/week, weekends 1 hour outdoor sports, daily 12k steps walking.
